Robot Assisted Prostate Adenomectomy
2024
At Informed, in collaboration with EAU, we created an explanatory animation about a robot-assisted prostate operation.
My main responsibility and challenge for this project was visualising the surrounding organs and the removal of the prostate. This project was particularly special to me, because I was also appointed as the project lead. I worked closely with the client, a doctor who performs these procedures himself, to ensure a realistic video.
The final result is a good representation of the procedure and a very nice animation. I’m proud of what we achieved.

Duplex Congenital Malformations
2023
In collaboration with EAU and eUROGEN, we created an explanatory video about congenital malformations, which are urinary tract alteratons. The video is aimed at parents of children with these conditions, providing information about their development, risks, and possible procedures.
My main task in this project was visualising four common alterations of the organs. I've modelled them based on doctors' sketches, which was quite a challenge. I've made materials for these alterations, surrounding organs and fetus. Furthermore, I designed and animated four icons in the background and worked on animation several scenes, including characters.

Prostate Cancer Screening
2024
This video was created to showcase the importance of screening for prostate cancer. The client wanted to inform viewers about the risks and benefits, so that prostate cancer could be detected and treated early.
I contributed significantly to the storyboard and blocking of the scenes. We had to puzzle a lot to correctly visualise what was being explained.
The client requested a '2D look' for the video, but we didn’t have one yet. I focused on all the materials and creating a 'Toon Shader,' and after some trial and error, I’m happy with the results. Furthermore, I designed and animated icons, visualised the growth of a tumor and wobbly cells using Geo Nodes, and focused on ensuring a smooth development process for the project.

New website Informed
2024
The website of Informed was outdated and neglected. The mission was not clearly communicated and the portfolio was not updated. During a slow period in summer (a.k.a. Komkommertijd), I took the initiative to completely redesign the entire website. A few new pictures and some text wouldn't be enough, so I had to start from scratch.
I held several meetings with my colleagues and other shareholders to gather information that was needed. I created the website in WordPress, but for custom content I wrote a lot of custom HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP. I designed it myself and created most visuals for it, as support to the text.
I'm very happy with the result. All the pages are clean and neatly organised. It is now clear what the mission and goal of the company is. The portfolio is updated with the best work and the website performs well. The website is still online, altough some alterations have been made since I left the company.

Cholesteatoma
2023
For this project for Erasmus MC we've visualised the ear anatomy and explained an operation of the removal of a cholesteatoma. We had old models of the ear anatomy, since we didn't use them often. I had to update the anatomy with the correct materials. Later I worked on visualising the highlights and the transition from the outer ear to the cells inside the Cochlea.

Scinvivo: Lumante Imaging Platform
2024
For this animation, we needed to showcase Scinvivo's innovative new product, which is a device that uses laser beams. This device is designed to reveal the depth of a tumor located in the bladder, something that could not be determined before.
My challenge for this project was the visualisation of the bladder wall and the tumor. This needed to be shown first with only the tumor on the surface and the depth unknown, and later with the depth exposed. I had to create new materials for this setup, create the laser beams using Geo Nodes and make sure everything was linked and non-destructive.

Decorative Kitchen
2022
For this personal project, I recreated an image of a decorated kitchen. I modelled the Italian Espresso Maker and the Orange Juicer myself, and adjusted the textures. I also designed the lighting myself to set the atmosphere and general mood of the scene.
Although I'm aware that I could make improvements to this project with my current skills, this was created some time ago. I wanted to showcase it as an example of the progress I’ve made over time.

Redesign Registration Flow
2022
Together with a colleague from the design team and two from customer care, we redesigned the registration flow on TurboTheorie's website. The existing flow was outdated, unintuitive, and wasn't appealing to our younger audience.
We spent a lot of time brainstorming and redefining different user paths. With my experience as a UX designer, I focused on the flow's design and overall user experience. I worked on sketches, created prototypes and later creating pixel-perfect designs for the developer.
After the new registration flow was launched, the customer care team was very happy, since the amount of calls decreased and new registrations increased. The registraton flow had become clearer and more transparent for users. Although the website has since changed, our design significantly improved the user experience at the time.

TurboTheorie
2021 - 2022
While working at TurboTheorie, I created images for students who were taking our driving theory course. The images were displayed in front of the class with a question next to it.
I only created still images for this company, animations were not needed. The traffic situation I had to recreate was always fixed, but other elements, such as lighting, composition, textures, and details, were up to me to decide.

UX At Ivido
2018 - 2021
I started working at Ivido for my graduation project, where I tackled a complete redesign of their website. Ivido is a healthcare organisation developing a personal healthcare dossier.
The project turned out to be too large for a six-month period, so after graduating I continued working at Ivido to continue the work. I created many new pages that had complex information about the patients healthcare. I often met with clients, each with their own requirements, which made it a challenge to design clear and user-friendly interfaces with many features.
I was also responsible for developing the overall visual style (UI) of the platform. The look was quite clinical and white. I combined this with clear icons and illustratiosn. While I was satisfied with the designs at the time, I'd likely take a different approach now.
Since I left Ivido, the company has grown significantly and gained even more active users. The platform has undergone many changes. I'm happy to see they're doing well and proud to have been part of their team.

Illustration
2019
Before I started with 3D Software, I spend a lot of time in Adobe Illustrator creating artwork of things and people I found inspiring, like Lady Gaga at the MET Gala in 2019. I recreated the look for my personal Instagram and hobby.
